More Mitchell Upon Request!

Mitchell is doing great! He has his day and nights mixed up, but we are working on that. It is worth any amount of sleep deprivation. He is the sweetest boy! We are so incredibly lucky!

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!

On Thursday I will go back to the hospital for more tests and observations. If the test results show that I am not doing any better than we will induce on Thursday. If I look ok, then they will try and fit me in the induction schedule over the weekend, with Monday being the latest possible day. So it looks like we will have Mitchell by Tuesday for sure. Please keep us in your prayers and we will keep you updated. God Bless!

UPDATE

Katie went back to the hospital today for more monitoring and is now home. She had a small enough amount of protein that they decided she could stay at home, but is on very strict bed rest for the remaining of her pregnancy. Her doctor wants her to try to make it ten more days to give Mitchell's lungs more time to fully develop. So unless more problems arrive we should have Mitchell in about 10 days. Thank you for continued prayers. God Bless!

-Stephen

Update

Katie came home last night about 6pm last night. She is continuing her urine analysis for protien which we will drop off at the hospital. This will give us an idea of where she is at ad if Mitchell will need to come early or if he can bake a few more weeks. Katie is such an awesome mom already. She has had to deal with so much while being pregnant. I am so proud of her. Thank you for your prayers. Good news is that No matter what Mitchell will be here no later than 3 weeks! That's all for now have a great day and God Bless!

Update

Katie and I went to the Doctor's office this morning and Katie had protein in her and her blood pressure was high. So she is in Labor and Delivery right now being monitored. The are checking her protein levels, blood pressure, and are monitoring the baby. If things progress she will spend the night and we could possibly have Mitchell tomorrow. But, I think it will all be fine and she will be home tonight. So keep her and Mitchell in your prayers. Tomorrow could be the day! or not. God Bless

Family Shower

My mom threw me a fabulous baby shower today. It was fun to get to see both sides of my family and Stephen's family at the same time. It was also nice to take a short break from my bed rest. We have received so many wonderful things for Mitchell. He is blessed to have so many people who love him and can't wait to meet him. We are waiting patiently for him. Only 3 1/2 more weeks until he is due but we might have him sooner if my blood pressure continues to climb. But he his no longer breech so we might be able to have him naturally if my blood pressure does not get out of hand. Here are pictures of my shower today and Mitchell's room.

Baby Update

We finally got the Internet at our house so now I can post on my blog. I have been on "left side" bed rest for two weeks now. My blood pressure just kind of shot up out of no where but when I lay on my left side it goes down. We also found out that Mitchell is breached, my doctor told me yesterday that we will do a c-section in three and 1/2 weeks if he does not turn himself around. Also if my blood pressure increases we will do an emergency c-section. But yesterday it was down the lowest it has been in three weeks. Stephen is finishing Mitchell's room today so I will post pictures of it when it is finished.

4D sonogram

Yesterday, on my birthday, we had a 4D sonogram, it was incredible! It was so nice to have an ultrasound under happy conditions because most of mine are because of all of the problems I have had. Unfortunately, the placenta is right in front of Mitchell's face so the pictures are not crystal clear, but they are good enough for me! Here he is...

He is sucking his left thumb in the one below and has his right hand up. He has such long fingers!

Mother’s Day!

Yesterday was my first mother’s day. It was such a special day. Stephen gave me a digital picture frame. It is so cool! It does slide shows of still pictures, plays videos, and music. I am going to put it on my desk next year so I can see little Mitchell while I am at work. Stephen made me a Mother’s Day slide show to the song “My Mother” from The Chipmunk Adventure (one of my favorite movies). It had all of Mitchell’s sonogram pictures, which of course made me cry. I just can’t believe how different Mother’s Day was this year from last. I had a miscarriage a few weeks before Mother’s Day last year and was on fertility drugs. Praise God for his blessings and his unfailing love! I was also able to spend the entire day with my mother. I am so blessed to have her in my life! She is the ultimate role model. I hope I can be half as great of a mom as she has been for Maggie and me! I hope one day Mitchell will think of me the way I think of my mom.

Baby Update

Well, foutunetly I have had a very uneventful three weeks. Mitchell is doing great! He is growing and moving like crazy. Stephen has been able to feel him move a couple of times. We go to the doctor on the 30th to verfiy that Mitchell is really a boy. I am fortunate that my doctor is willing to take another look so we can finally start preparing the nursery. I am ready to turn my sewing room into the baby's room. I walk by it every morning and think, "I can't believe we will have a baby in here in three and half months". For as slow and painful my first trimester was my second has been fast and fun! I love being pregnant! Here is a belly shot, I am 23 weeks a one day!

It's A Boy!!!

Below are pictures of our beautiful son, William Mitchell McBroom! We were sure that the baby was a girl so we are very excited by the surprise! He is very healthy and growing at a perfect rate! Maisy said she still wants to call him Lady Bug.

I love this picture of his face. He has his mouth open. I think he might be wild and crazy like his Aunt Maggie!
This one is the boy shot.
This is a head and a hand!

This one is kind of hard to see but it is another face shot. He has his hand on his forehead and then you can see his eyes, nose, mouth, and cute little chin.
