The New Normal

Well it has been a week and 1/2 and we are adjusting nicely to our "new normal." Maggie Kate is a sleeping champ. She sleeps at least one 5hr stretch each night and sometimes two. She seemed so fragile to me a week ago because she was so much smaller than Mitchell was. She was back to her birth weight last weekend and I am sure she has gained quite a bit more since our doctors appointment. She is starting to get a little double chin. We are having trouble finding clothes that fit her because she is so long but so skinny. Most of the preemie clothes fit just right but they can't have built in footsies because her legs are so long.
Now for an update on the big brother...
Mitchell is doing really well. He was having a really hard time when we first got home from the hospital. We thought it was because of Maggie Kate but upon close inspection of his mouth I discovered that all four of his molars came in. Once they broke through his gums he was back to his old self-happy as can be! He loves his sister so much. He doesn't seem to be jealous at all. He says "AHHHH" every time he sees Maggie Kate and he calls her "Baby Shishy" Mitchell does seem to be sick of being at home however. He goes to the door and says "bye-bye" all the time. He is also obsesed with my mom lately. He calls her "Mamma" instead of Gamma. He will be so excited this week when she comes to help me while Stephen is at work.
Here are some pictures from the past few days.
Stephen bought these animals for Mitchell this week. He LOVES them. He makes the lion eat the other animals. I don't know where he picked that up.

Mitchell was a little stir crazy so we went to the mall for a while to play on the play ground and look around. Here we are with the new dubby stroller. This thing is a beast! It barely fits in my trunk. Now I am wishing I had a minivan.

Mitchell loved this cow at the mall playground. He is mooing in this picture.

Mitchell and his great grandfather, Diddad.

Katie I am so glad to hear that you are doing well, life with two kids that close is such an adjustment. Those babies of yours are so precious...

Hannah became very obsessed with my mom when Katie was born. Hannah was 14 months. I think Mom just had time (and arms) to give when I didn't. It was fine and I think it was good for both of them. It wore off when life I eased into the routine of caring for two babies. Until then, let Gamma enjoy herself. It is a precious time.

I love, love, LOVE the new look. Y'all always have the cutest blogs by far. So glad it is going so well! Good for you for venturing out- I'm sure Mitchell was grateful.
You and Stephen are great parents and doing a great job.
