Mother’s Day!

Yesterday was my first mother’s day. It was such a special day. Stephen gave me a digital picture frame. It is so cool! It does slide shows of still pictures, plays videos, and music. I am going to put it on my desk next year so I can see little Mitchell while I am at work. Stephen made me a Mother’s Day slide show to the song “My Mother” from The Chipmunk Adventure (one of my favorite movies). It had all of Mitchell’s sonogram pictures, which of course made me cry. I just can’t believe how different Mother’s Day was this year from last. I had a miscarriage a few weeks before Mother’s Day last year and was on fertility drugs. Praise God for his blessings and his unfailing love! I was also able to spend the entire day with my mother. I am so blessed to have her in my life! She is the ultimate role model. I hope I can be half as great of a mom as she has been for Maggie and me! I hope one day Mitchell will think of me the way I think of my mom.

Baby Update

Well, foutunetly I have had a very uneventful three weeks. Mitchell is doing great! He is growing and moving like crazy. Stephen has been able to feel him move a couple of times. We go to the doctor on the 30th to verfiy that Mitchell is really a boy. I am fortunate that my doctor is willing to take another look so we can finally start preparing the nursery. I am ready to turn my sewing room into the baby's room. I walk by it every morning and think, "I can't believe we will have a baby in here in three and half months". For as slow and painful my first trimester was my second has been fast and fun! I love being pregnant! Here is a belly shot, I am 23 weeks a one day!

It's A Boy!!!

Below are pictures of our beautiful son, William Mitchell McBroom! We were sure that the baby was a girl so we are very excited by the surprise! He is very healthy and growing at a perfect rate! Maisy said she still wants to call him Lady Bug.

I love this picture of his face. He has his mouth open. I think he might be wild and crazy like his Aunt Maggie!
This one is the boy shot.
This is a head and a hand!

This one is kind of hard to see but it is another face shot. He has his hand on his forehead and then you can see his eyes, nose, mouth, and cute little chin.

My Modest Baby

Ok, so I guess I have the most modest baby in the world. I have had three sonograms in the last 2 weeks and at each one I have asked the doctor to look and see what we are having. However, my baby must be very modest because in all three the doctor could not tell if we are having a boy or a girl. I have, unfortunately, had to have three sonograms because I have had some complications but thanks to so many prayers it looks like all is well with me and the baby. I was hoping this morning when I had my third sonogram that the baby would flash its parts for the entire world to see, but we had another no-show. I am going to go back in on the 2nd of April for another attempt. If we can’t find out on the 2nd then I am paying the big bucks for a 3-D sono. So I am starting the count down again… 14 more days.

The Heartbeat!

I love going to my OB appointments. There is nothing better than hearing my sweet baby’s heart beat. Today, I had a doctor’s appointment and everything looked great. There is always those few seconds where we are waiting for the doctor to find the heart beat that feel like an eternity. I am so glad we live in a time where we have the technology to hear and see what is going on inside of us. I can’t imagine not having a sonogram or not hearing the heartbeat. I am counting down the days until next Friday, when we have our sonogram and find out if we are having a boy or a girl. Only 11 more days!

Cravings!

Now that my morning/all-day sickness has passed, I have started to have cravings. This morning at about 5:00 I woke up and could not think about anything else except for Apple Pie. So I had a slice of Apple pie for breakfast. Stephen is waiting for me to start craving pickles (which I HATE!) but I don’t think I ever will. Here are my most recent cravings…

Bean Burrito from Taco Bueno

Pineapple and Apples

Eggo Waffles

Salad… Any kind, I feel like a rabbit, I just want to eat lettuce.

Apple juice slush from Sonic- Thanks Maggie

Cheeseburger Macaroni Hamburger Helper

Baked Potatoes with Cheese and Ketchup

A Sinus Infection and a Wonderful Husband!

Happy Valentines Day to me, I have a sinus infection. It has knocked me off my feet. I have basically been asleep for the past 48 hours and every time I cough I get sick to my stomach. This has not been fun. But I thought I should publicly announce how great my husband Stephen is. Since I have been pregnant I have not cooked one meal, cleaned one dish, scrubbed one toilet, or folded a single towel. But my house has been clean, the dishes and laundry have been done and I have not gone without dinner. He even holds my hair every time I throw up. How great is he! I am so blessed to have such a caring and loving husband!

Sorry Maggie, no chocolate buffet, I was to sick to get my camera this morning.

Little Ladybug

Our Little Ladybug, at 8 weeks!
Stephen and I have been so blessed this year! Many of you know that Stephen and I have been trying to have baby for three and half years. We exhausted all of the options and fertility drugs that my OBGYN could provide for us and were ready to move on to a fertility specialist this coming summer. However, God in his awesome, goodness had other plans for us. Instead of undergoing in-vitro this summer, I will be delivering our first baby. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and thank God every day for this precious gift he has given Stephen and me.
Maisy calls the baby “Ladybug”. She knows it is a girl, even though we won’t find out until next month if Ladybug really is a girl. Like in every other situation, we all do what Maisy says and have started calling the baby Ladybug. I think it is much better than “IT”. I just hope if it is a boy he won’t mind that his nick-name was Ladybug for about 10 weeks.

Our garage has been the pits ever since we moved into our house. We have never had two cars parked in the garage until this week. Here are our before and after pictures.

This was our Spring Sing Banner that Stephen and I painted. It won first place in the banner competition! I was so happy to come across it while cleaning up my garage!

Neices and Nephews

Neices and Nephews are the best! We had both Maisy and Marcus (Stephen's sister's son) last weekend. We spoiled them rotten and had a great time doing it!

Uncle Stephen won Maisy and Marcus over 1000 tickets!

Maisy in a race car!

Riding an elephant at Putt-Putt

Maisy and Marcus loved riding in the car together!

After Putt-Putt we took Maisy and Marcus to the Rain Forest Cafe (or as Maisy calls it "the Jungle")

Why my blog is boring today!

I have been waiting to use the "internet computer" in the studio all morning so I can post a really interesting blog. But my dad and Stephen have tried and failed 4 times to burn a DVD. So this is all I got, along with a few "DAD-GUM-IT's" from my dad!

Stephen I love your Bunnies!

Since we have moved into our house we have found out that there are bunnies living under our shed (A mommy and a daddy). Stephen and I act like an 80 year old couple and watch our bunnies playing in the back yard. Well when spring came we saw the bunnies mating and then a few months later we saw our first baby bunny. Unfortunately, the baby bunny was attacked by a cat and died. We were very said about this but the other two bunnies are still around. I told Maisy that we have bunnies in our back yard and so she always asks to see them when she comes over. Luckily, the bunnies always make an appearance for her and Stephen takes her outside to see them. I guess because Stephen is the one to show her the bunnies she thinks that the bunnies are his. Whenever she sees us she says "KK, I love you, Stephen, I love your bunnies"
